Thank you DNC. I know I gave that lovable group of scamps the business over that 2016 rerun in Iowa, but I am grateful for this bit of news.
Superdelegates will no longer vote on the first ballot at the convention unless there is no doubt about the outcome.
And before pies start flying, remember I was a Joaquin Julian Castro supporter due to my strong Texas leanings and seeing some hispanic representation on the stage. Beto is awesome as well, and I hope both find a place in the new administration for some quality executive branch experience.
I think Warren is not being given enough time during the debates, along with Yang. Both have great ideas about policies and direction for our country and it’s a shame that the “network” media are still treating important national discussions like wrestling scripts with subpar plot lines.
I also think we should give Klobuchar a closer look just based on the fact that the Wellstone family encouraged her to run. I still miss Paul Wellstone and the effect he could have had on our country in our more troubling times.
I also wish Biden would enjoy his much desired retirement. Love that guy, but now is not the time.
We should be happy to have such a great field of Democrats and even more grateful that the people of our republic get to choose the candidate for the Democratic Party on the first ballot at the convention.
I will not dig up old snakes, but the superdelegate count was always included by the media after each primary.
In New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were reported both receiving 15 delegates even though Sanders had own the vote by 60.98% for 15 of the 24 pledged delegates.
Mo is everything in sports and politics and superdelegates were used to weight the scale because Jimmy Carter inspired progressives instead of Reagan Democrats that the party spent the next 30 years chasing.
So thank you DNC, thank you for us not having to go through that ugliness because even though I enjoy myself some Joe Biden, I do not think he is the chosen frontrunner of the voting public.
Biden is still currently the front runner with 68 delegates.
No one can step on the scale this time, be fun to see how the vote unfolds.
And to take a page from Hillary Clinton:
"Let's go forward, let's win the nomination, and in July, let's return as a unified party." Hillary Clinton.
I look forward to all of the big tent backing which ever great nominee we have to defeat the sitting king installed by the Republicans of all people.
And when the general election comes, we need to verify how the votes will be counted. We cannot let this new brand of “conservatives” “win”, least their ethos becomes law of the land.
The GOP wishes to create a group that the law protects but does not bind, while binding the rest to laws that do not protect us.
Go. Fight. Win.
This election is about the soul of our republic.
