Those who know me best know my corazon lies somewhere on a sunlit mountain in Latin America. That is why I was watching the foreign policy exchange with great interest last night in the debate, when something happened that is still in my craw.
Talk about getting ahead of the talking point, what exact change is being referenced here?
He used this exact jab, like all his pre-planned jabs, when the right word soup came up in the debate. This was not reference to the Cold War, Pete was setting himself up to be the moderate choice between to the two, context of what Bernie just said be damned.
Speaking of damning, if it weren't for the revolutionary politics of an ENTIRE GENERATION, not just Bernie, to get the civil rights ball rolling or Pete would not be running as openly gay man for President.
On top of that rank irony, I hope Democratic Party can find a candidate who doesn't settle for an America somewhere between segregation, aka the Old Social Order, and the civil rights movement that helped DEFINE our party and melting pot that is America.
My generation, and the generations below mine, while we are currently giving the Boomers the business with Boomer, we would not be here if not for the work of countless Boomers for the cause of civil rights in the 1960s.
Well, most of us remember, Pete could use a refresher.
